Spain defeated Russia in the European Soccer semifinals and will play Germany for the title on Sunday night! It is a huge deal for the Spanish soccer team and we're excited to watch the action! Thousands of Spanish soccer fans have sworn to shave their heads if Spain wins. Hope to see lots of bald heads soon:) Go Espana!
UPDATE: Spain won! 1-0! Ole!

Slowly but surely
This is so cute although I can hardly believe she is this close to actual walking. I love how she walks by her book and says "woof". (She likes all the sound effects we make when we read this book, but especially the dog one).

New favorite thing
Amelia doing Gene Simmons. This is what she did in church today to all the people behind us. Hillarious.

Diapers Stink!
Diaper time in the McBride household is becoming increasingly impossible! As soon as we lay Amelia down to change her, she flips over. Try to distract her with a toy and she hurls it. A tube of diaper lotion works, for about 2 seconds, but then she trys to eat it. Lately she has learned how to undo the velcro tabs after we have somehow wrangled her into the clean diaper. It would be funny if it didn't happen 10 times a day or so.... Any advice out there? Is it too early for potty training?!? Help:)

A little over 3 months left...
It is slowly starting to sink in that in just a few months we'll be leaving Spain FOREVER. No official leave date yet, but plans are in motion. I have lots of mixed feelings about this, but right now I'm just pretty sad. I try to walk along the beach boardwalk daily so I can permanently etch the views of Puerto Sherry and Cadiz in my mind. I'm sad that Amelia won't remember living in this gorgeous place with the nearly perfect weather. I'm disappointed that despite swearing not to move back to the U.S unless I spoke fluent Spanish, I still have to say "Lo siento, hablo solamente un poco de Espanol" way too often (I only have my lazy self to blame for this!). I'm not thrilled about the traffic and the "work comes first" mentality we'll be rejoining. sigh. But, I do have so many incredible things to remember about our time here. And plenty of reasons that I'm excited to move back. I'll highlight them on another post sometime. I'm just in a sappy mood at the moment.

Happy Day Papas!
Happy Father's Day to all the padres:) We had a nice relaxing day lounging around, and then having a barbeque with some friends. Sean got a new golf gadget and played a round on Saturday. Amelia showered him with lots of hugs and kisses too (or more like hair pulls and slobber).

Amigas
I've been getting together with some friends and their babies lately for some social interaction and mom bonding time. Amelia's first "friends" here in Spain have been little Helena and Kaylee. I say "friends" loosley because Amelia tends to either bang them on the head with her toys, or ignore them. She is fascinated with older kids but not so much with those her own age. Oh well. It is still awfully cute watching them "play".

Little Helper
The kitchen is a disaster all of the time. I've got some help, but she doesn't really adhere to my strict standards of cleanliness (HA!). I think it may be time for her to move on to something else. She just isn't very good at organizing and keeping things neat.
See what I mean...

Sunny Days
The weather finally warmed up a bit this weekend and we spent some time cleaning the tiny pool and visiting the beach. I am so ready for summer! Amelia has tons of cute summer clothes and she hasn't been able to wear them yet! Also, I'm really excited to play with her in the pool but it is still really cold.
Amelia wasn't so sure about the sandy beach at first. She contemplated crawling on the sand for a long time, but finally curiosity won out and she took off:)

Splashing girl!
The hat lasted about 30 seconds.

Look out!
