Let your heart be light

Ah the holidays! We are busy like everyone else. Starting new traditions (piano recitals!) and keeping old ones (ornament party, driving around to see lights) and much much more :)  We always get our tree at the same place (Norfolk Farm Market) and we always go to the Ghent Christmas Tree lighting, which is not much more than a Charlie Brown tree, but it makes me smile.  We had a great Thanksgiving in Louisville (I love that city! hills and gorgeous old neighborhoods and parks and the coolest shopping street around) with family and the drive really wasn't that bad :)

I hope you find some time to enjoy old and new traditions this year!

Bragging about my Mia

Mia was recognized for her grades, being a good school citizen and getting second place in a PTA art contest all in one week! We are proud parents :)

She also broke her toe earlier this month and had to wear a special shoe for 3 weeks. She's a trooper.

 

 Random change of topic, but our neighborhood is gorgeous right now.

And this one is a crazy lady on the kick bike. I promise she was wearing her helmet. I just wanted a picture after she had taken it off.

October!! Tons of photos below!

Hello November! I can't believe you are here already.  October (which should just be renamed Halloweenber) was as fun as always! We went on a rainy, but still fun trip to Smith Mountain Lake, had a quick, lovely visit with family in Lynchburg, went to countless fall festivals, apple picking, pumpkin picking etc. etc.  All of our usual favorites :) Many photos were taken of course :)
